New England Fall Foliage

1st Day: We begin our adventure to New England today, with meals on your own en route. We will overnight in New Jersey and continue on our journey tomorrow. 

2nd Day: Breakfast this morning is included at the hotel before departure. We depart early morning, and begin our journey into New England. Our first stop today takes us to Essex, CT where we board the Essex Steam Train for a 12-mile, narrated roundtrip into the Connecticut River Valley – called “one of the last great places on Earth”. Upon arrival at Deep River Landing, passengers are escorted onto the Becky Thatcher Riverboat for a cruise along the Connecticut River. Lunch will be served on our cruise today.  We will continue our journey to Chicopee, MA where we will overnight. Dinner on your own in the area. (CB, L)

3rd Day: Following breakfast, we will depart for Holderness, New Hampshire to the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center. We will board pontoons for a scenic cruise on Squam Lake where the movie “On Golden Pond” was filmed.  Learn about the natural history of Squam Lake, look for Bald Eagles, and listen for the haunting call of Common Loons. Hear about the people who have lived on its rocky shores surrounded by scenic mountains for over 5,000 years. A Box Lunch will be included on your cruise today. After our cruise, we'll make our way to Fadden's General Store in Lincoln, NH where you can enjoy a tour of the sugar house and museum, sample Vermont Maple syrup, and still have some free time for shopping at this quaint New England favorite. This afternoon we will ride on the White Mountain Express at Loon Mountain for a round trip gondola ride to the summit of Loon. Our home will be at Loon Mountain Resort for the next 2 evenings - and dinner will be included this evening. (B, BL, D)

4th Day: Breakfast is included this morning. After breakfast, we'll board the coach to Mount Washington, NH where we board the Cog Railway for a scenic journey to the summit. The Mount Washington Cog Railway, also known as the Cog, is the world's first mountain-climbing cog railway.  We will enjoy a box lunch after our ride before saying goodbye to this beautiful mountain. We will stop at the Omni Mount Washington Hotel for some amazing photos - hopefully the weather will be cooperating!  Tonight, we're in for a special treat aboard the Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train where we will enjoy a fabulous train ride and delicious four-course dinner. (B, BL, D) 

5th Day: After breakfast, we say good-bye to the White Mountains and begin our journey to Lake George, NY where you will have time for lunch and shopping on your own. This afternoon we have a scenic cruise on Lake George aboard the Adirondac or Minnie-Ha-Ha. You'll have some time to explore on your own before we depart for Queensbury, NY - our home for the night. Dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant. (B, D)

6th Day: After breakfast we will head to Lancaster, PA. Upon arrival we will check into our hotel for the night, evening is free. (B)

7th Day: Have breakfast and board the coach for our return trip. Arriving back approximately 7:00 PM. (CB)
