1st Day: Today we journey to Nashville, Tennessee - Music City, USA; The Birthplace of Country Music; The Hot Chicken Capital - and home of the Grand Ole Opry! We will check into our home for the next two nights. Dinner on your own in the area.
2nd Day: After breakfast this morning, enjoy a guided Nashville City Tour. An enlightening and interesting narrative will include the downtown area, with some of its colorful history, famous Music Row, the Bicentennial Mall, the State Capitol, and Nashville’s Parthenon. This afternoon we will visit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The museum, called the “Smithsonian of country music” because of its unrivaled collection, has 350,000 square feet of dynamic state-of-the-art galleries, archival storage, education classrooms, retail stores, and special event space boasting stunning downtown views. In the museum’s core exhibition, Sing Me Back Home: A Journey Through Country Music, visitors are immersed in the history and sounds of country music, its origins and traditions, and the stories and voices of many of its honored architects. You will have some free time in Downtown Nashville to enjoy lunch on your own, shopping, attractions, museums, galleries and more. Later this afternoon we will check into our home for the night. This evening we have reserved seats at the Grand Ole Opry. More than 60 acts are members of the Opry, and you can expect to see some of them at this special performance. What began as a simple radio broadcast in 1925 is today a live-entertainment phenomenon. (CB)
