Weekend Penn-Dutch Theatre Express

Featuring: Daniel

1st Day: Upon arrival in Lancaster, PA, we will check into our home for the night. This evening, a smorgasbord dinner is included. After dinner we head to Strasburg to the Sight & Sound Theatre to see Daniel. Taken from his people, Daniel is exiled far from home in the powerful kingdom of Babylon. Now this faithful servant must navigate his new life inside a palace filled with golden statues and shifting empires. As royal pressures mount, Daniel is faced with a dangerous choice. Will his trust in the one true God remain steadfast through every test of faith? From the fiery furnace to the infamous den of lions, DANIEL is a spectacular theatrical experience for the whole family. Witness one of the Bible’s most hope-filled stories as it comes to life in this brand-new original stage production from Sight & Sound Theatres. (D)

2nd Day: After your continental breakfast, we will board the coach for the Bird-in-Hand Farmer’s Market. There are over 30 standholders offering delicious selections of fresh-from-the-farm fruits and vegetables, meats and cheeses, jams and jellies, health foods, fresh baked goods, candy, homemade fudge, homemade Good ‘N Plenty ice cream, canned goods, quilts and handcrafts, and more. Plus, glassware, books, clothing outlets, and locally-made furniture make a delightful country shopping experience! Next, we’ll head to the Kitchen Kettle Village. Stroll through the village of 42 shops and restaurants built around their nationally celebrated Jam & Relish Kitchen. Sample pepper jam, watch fudge being rolled, or go for a horse drawn carriage ride. And did we mention the shopping? It’s like a treasure hunt with everything from hand-carved signs, to handmade quilts, to Brighton leather goods, to UGG boots and so much more. Enjoy lunch on your own at the Village. We’ll depart for home after lunch, arriving back approximately 9:30 PM. (CB)
