Ohio Amish Express

1st Day: Today we travel to the world’s largest Amish community – the Ohio Amish Country.  On our way we'll be stopping in West Virginia at the New River Bridge and Gorge, where there are two overlooks that give spectacular and breathtaking views of the wild New River and the New River Gorge. At one time, the Bridge was the longest in the world. We then travel on to Berlin Ohio, our home for the next two nights. We will have a full buffet dinner this evening (included) at Farmstead restaurant. (D)

2nd Day: This morning we’ll begin our guided tour of the Amish Country.  We will go to the Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center. Discover the heritage of the Ohio Amish Country! See why the people live the way they do. Experience a tour of Behalt Cyclorama–the stunning 260-foot mural-in-the-round depicting the history of the Amish and Mennonites. Enjoy a video, as well as displays, to learn more about local life, faith, culture and beliefs. Also included will be a visit to a Bakery and Farmer’s Market our largest Amish family owned bakery,with third generation helping out.You will find a full line of baked goods,also local grown produce in the season.Walk out to the petting zoo where you get to pet Big King (the largest registered Belgium horse in Ohio).You will enjoy shopping at the farm store where they have local made items.  We then head to  Hieni’s Cheese over 20 varieties of locally made cheeses featuring their famous yogurt cheese!  Enjoy many other popular choices including baby swiss, Colby, cheddar, pepper jack, and their signature dessert cream cheese fudge varieties!   We will then depart for Main street Berlin for shopping and lunch on your own.  After lunch we will depart for Colbentz Leather Shop owned by an Amish family,third generation working in the shop now, they have belts of every style & size,wallets,purses etc.Have fun feeding the goats, geese & ducks outside.  We will make a quick stop at the hotel before heading out to an Amish Home Meal. Enjoy a family style feast & fellowship with the family.You will learn more about how they live without all the modern technology. After dinner we will depart for the Amish Country Theater. Enjoy a laughter filled two hours of fun at this family friendly theater,with a country bumpkin,and a world renown ventriloquist Ken Groves! audience participation too.  After the show we head back to the hotel. 3rd Day: This morning we will visit the Warther Museum. Walk through the museum on a guided tour & view the woodcarvings of steam engines created by Mooney Warther,they are priceless works of art!!!  View Mrs. Warthers button collection featuring over 70,000 buttons arranged in art work. After our visit we will head home. Arriving back approximately 7:00 PM. (CB)
