New Hampshire Highlights

Featuring the Cog Railway

1st Day: We begin our journey to New England today, spending our first night in New Jersey.

2nd Day: Today, we will travel through Massachusetts, stopping along the way at Yankee Candle in South Deerfield, MA, where visitors always receive a warm welcome and a place to shop, create, explore, and eat. You will have lunch and shopping on your own. Afterwards we will go up the Vermont-New Hampshire state line, on our way to the beautiful “White Mountains” of New Hampshire. We will be lodging at a resort in Lincoln, NH, for the next two nights. Dinner is served this evening at the resort. After dinner, there is an optional Moose Tour from 8:00 PM until 11:00 PM. This add-on has limited space, so don't wait too long to book it! The cost of the tour is $50 per person. (CB, D)

3rd Day: A hearty breakfast is included this morning at the hotel. Today a local New Hampshire guide will join us for our journey, as we tour the Lupine Fields-Sugar Hill area. If Mother Nature is cooperating with our schedule, you’ll enjoy vibrant purples, pinks, blues and whites. The Lupine Fields create a beautiful floral display against the majestic backdrop of the Franconia, Presidential, and Kinsman Mountain ranges. Every nature and flower lover must see the field of lupines at least once. We will then depart for Mount Washington, NH where we board the Cog Railway for a scenic journey to the summit. The Mount Washington Cog Railway, also known as the Cog, is the world's first mountain-climbing cog railway. Enjoy a Box Lunch served along our journey. This afternoon we will depart for the hotel, driving portions of the Kancamagus Highway, designated a National Scenic Byway in 1996. We will be making picture stops along the way. Dinner is included tonight. (B, BL, D)

4th Day: After breakfast at the hotel, we will head for the White Mountains Visitor Center for an informative stop before continuing on to Mill Falls Marketplace, a historic centerpiece where you will enjoy lunch on your own and shopping along the boardwalk on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. Next, we will depart for Holderness, NH to enjoy a cruise on Squam Lake. You will experience the beauty of Big Squam Lake and learn about the natural forces that created this lake. It was also made famous by the movie “On Golden Pond.” After the cruise, we will depart for North Woodstock and Fadden’s General Store, where we will learn the secrets behind the production of their award winning maple syrup. We will then return to our hotel to freshen up for the Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train, located in the scenic White Mountains of New Hampshire.  Featuring a two-hour train ride complete with a 4-course dinner aboard a 1950s restored vintage rail car, the Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train is a dining experience of a lifetime.
