2nd Day: After breakfast at the hotel, we will travel to Washington, D.C. to visit the Holocaust Memorial Museum. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is America’s national institution for the documentation, study, and interpretation of Holocaust history, and serves as this country’s memorial to the millions of people murdered during the Holocaust. Spanning three floors, the self-guided permanent exhibition, "The Holocaust", offers a chronological narrative of the Holocaust through historical artifacts, photographs, and film footage. Throughout the exhibition, visitors will also encounter personal objects and the eyewitness testimonies of individual survivors. The Holocaust Museum’s collections contain more than 12,750 artifacts, 49 million pages of archival documents, 85,000 historical photographs, a list of over 200,000 registered survivors and their families, 1,000 hours of archival footage, 93,000 library items, and 9,000 oral history testimonies. Continuing home after visiting our Nation’s capital, we will arrive approximately at 9:00 PM. (CB)
