Penn-Dutch Featuring: David

Plus The Museum of the Bible

1st Day: Upon arrival in Lancaster, Pennsylvania we will check into our home for the next two nights. The evening is free.

2nd Day: This morning we’ll meet our Amish Neighbors Tour guide to travel the back roads and hopefully get to see the Amish working in the fields. The first stop will be a “snack” and visit to the Dutchie Fisher Farm (now the Lapp’s). This family has five children. On our stop here, we will visit with the family inside of their home where the mother and children will make some snacks and drinks for everyone. You’ll be able to sit, talk, and get to know the family. They will answer questions, talk about the farm and their way of life, and just intermingle with the group. Once our snack visit is over, our guide will continue into the countryside and talk about the Amish customs and traditions. We’ll be passing by several one room schoolhouses, which are still being used today by the Amish children. Maybe we’ll be lucky enough to see Amish horse and buggies clip-clopping down the roads. Next, we’ll head to the Kitchen Kettle Village to enjoy lunch on your own. Stroll through the village of 42 shops and restaurants. Next we will visit a farmer’s market. A delightful country shopping experience! After a delightful day our dinner stop will be a family-style Amish Feast. After dinner we will go to the Sight & Sound Theatre to see David. Master Poet. Fearless Warrior. Anointed King. After unprecedented victories lead to devastating failures, this passionate warrior will face the biggest battle of all: the one within himself. Experience one of the most legendary Bible stories as it comes to life in this brand-new stage production from Sight & Sound Theatres. (CB, D)

3rd Day: Departing for home this morning, we’ll travel to Washington, D.C. to the new Museum of the Bible. This is the most technologically advanced museum in the world, providing guests with an immersive and personalized experience as they explore the history, narrative, and impact of the Bible. The 430,000-square-foot world-class museum features 40-foot-tall bronze doors at the entrance, a Digital Lobby Ceiling, a Performing Arts Theater, a roof-top Biblical garden and more. See the History of the Bible floor - follow the Bible from its origins as a series of writings accessible to only a small group of people, through many changes in form and adoption by multiple faith traditions, to the most widely read text in history. Enjoy the Narratives of the Bible floor - visitors will walk through the narratives of the Hebrew text from Genesis to Chronicles and then through first-century Nazareth, ending with the story of the New Testament. Explore the Impact of the Bible floor - explore the Bible’s impact over time on cultures, civilizations, and daily life, including its profound influence on fine arts, science, government, music, film and more. Continuing home after visiting our Nation’s capital, we will arrive approximately 9:00 PM. (CB)

Special Notice: Balance due 30 days prior to departure. Cancellation within 30 days of departure will result in payment forfeiture.
