Christmas In The Amish Country

Deck the Halls and Queen Esther

1st Day: Upon arrival in Lancaster, Pennsylvania we will check into our home for the next two nights. Tonight, enjoy a show at the American Music Theatre. Playing at this time is Deck the Halls. The show is sure to be the highlight of your holiday season. It will warm your heart and touch your soul with world-class entertainment and sentimental tributes to the true meaning of Christmas.

2nd Day: This morning, we will step back in time with a visit to Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum, considered by many to be the “best kept secret in Pennsylvania.” Founded by brothers Henry and George Landis, it is the largest “living history” village in the country dedicated to the total preservation of early Pennsylvania German/Dutch life. The authentic crossroads village includes historic buildings with costumed guide interpretation, a vast collection of historic agricultural equipment, and ongoing farming based on 1700’s and 1800’s practices and traditions, using historic breeds of animals and crops authentic to the period. Through its Heirloom Seed Project, Landis Valley preserves over 240 varieties of seeds—the same types of seeds that were in the pockets of the first Pennsylvania German settlers. This afternoon we will visit the Kitchen Kettle Village, with over thirty shops and restaurants jammed full of Lancaster’s simple pleasures. We’ll also go to a Farmer’s Market (if open). Tonight, an Amish Feast is included. After dinner, we head to Strasburg to the Sight & Sound Theatre. We’ll see Queen Esther. Set in the opulent yet perilous Persian Empire, QUEEN ESTHER is a captivating tale of beauty and bravery. Esther’s ordinary life changed forever when she was taken through the palace doors, entering a new world of royalty and risk. With a crown on her head and a secret in her heart, can she find the courage to trust in God’s plan and believe that she was made for such a time as this? Experience one of the most riveting Bible stories of the Old Testament as it comes to life with magnificent sets, special effects and live animals in this brand-new, original stage production! 3rd Day: After your continental breakfast, we will board the coach for Hershey’s Chocolate World. Enjoy Hershey’s Great American Chocolate Tour Ride. Follow the cocoa beans on a journey from the tropical rainforest to the SWEETEST PLACE ON EARTH – Hershey, Pennsylvania! See, feel, hear, and smell the delicious transformation from bean to HERSHEY’S famous chocolate. Also, enjoy a FREE sample of a Hershey’s product at the end of the tour. Next, we depart for home, arriving back at approximately 8:30 PM. (CB)

Special Notice: Balance due 30 days prior to departure. Cancellation within 30 days of departure will result in payment forfeiture.
