1st Day: We depart this morning on our exciting excursion into the wilds of West Virginia. Upon arrival in Elkins, we will check into our home for the next two nights. This evening we will enjoy a delicious plated meal and fabulous show at the Gandy Dancer Dinner Theater. Enjoy the fine musicianship and performance quality of this Branson-style variety show featuring impersonations, good-time comedy interludes, and just pure fun for all! (D)
2nd Day: Today our adventure package includes a combined ride on two trains - the Cass Scenic Railroad and the Cheat Mountain Salamander. We will depart Elkins and travel to Cass, WV, where you’ll have a little free time to explore prior to the first train ride. Board the steam-driven Shay of the Cass Scenic Railroad, an open air car, and ride to Old Spruce and transfer to the diesel-powered Cheat Mountain Salamander. This new wilderness excursion explores the most remote areas of the Mountain State - some areas so remote that even automobiles cannot access! Take in the sights of West Virginia’s most pristine rivers and enjoy the mountain-top views. The 5.5 hour one-way Mountain Rail Adventure includes an onboard boxed lunch on the Cheat Mountain Salamander en route to Elkins, arriving approximately 5:00 PM for a wonderful dinner. Following dinner we will enjoy the Tribute to Musical Legends Show, an amazing musical tribute to legendary artists who have touched our hearts through the ages...including Reba McIntyre, Johnny Cash, June Carter Cash, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Kenny Rogers, Elvis Presley and many more. 3rd Day: We will depart this morning to return home. On our way home we will stop at the New River Gorge Bridge, a beautiful sight! We will arrive back approximately 5:30 PM. (CB)
