National Museum of African American History and Culture

Washington, DC • Red-Eye

We’ll travel early morning to our Nation’s Capital – Washington, DC. Upon arrival, we will drop everyone at the National Museum of African American History and Culture. The museum is a place where all Americans can learn about the richness and diversity of the African American experience, what it means to their lives and how it helped us shape this nation. A place that transcends the boundaries of race and culture that divide us, and becomes a lens into a story that unites us all. Some of the displays you can see are: the weathered wood cabin used during the period of slavery at Point of Pines Plantation on Edisto Island, SC; a log cabin of free slaves from Poolesville, MD; a menacing prison guard tower; a segregation-era railway car; and an airplane used by Tuskegee Airmen. There are interactive exhibitions and thousands of artifacts related to African American history. You are also free to visit any of the other Smithsonian Museums on your own. If you want to explore further on your own, you may visit a favorite attraction or museum, enjoy a guided tour on a trolley or double-decker bus, take a sightseeing cruise, shop, and more. There is so much to see and do in our Nation’s Capital. The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority has rail and bus routes if you wish to travel to other parts of the DC area that are not within walking distance. You can spend the day as you choose. (Note: Ticket to the National Museum of African American History and Culture is included. Admission fees to any other attractions or tours you choose to do are not included.) Everyone will meet at a designated location at 6:00 PM and we will depart for home, stopping for dinner at the Pentagon City Mall shortly after departing DC. Arrival back is approximately 1:30 AM the next morning.

Special Notice: Balance is due 14 days prior to departure. Cancellations within 14 days of departure will result in payment forfeiture.
