Upon arrival at Smith Mountain Lake, we will board The Virginia Dare, a 19th century side-wheeler. Enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres while cruising on one of the most beautiful lakes in the east. With over 500 miles of shoreline and 23,000 acres of water, Smith Mountain Lake is the Jewel of the Blue Ridge Mountains. As the Virginia Dare leaves the dock, one of the first things you will see is the Smith Mountain Lake State Park, with numerous walking trails and a sandy beach. As we continue down the lake you will encounter: a house on a private island, a housing development that has a Nantucket style, a sail boating club, three islands (Goat, Turtle & Bride), one of the oldest condominium developments on the lake, an antique carousel, one of the oldest tobacco barns in the area, two islands that are actually ridge tops, Osprey nests, and more. You will also cruise over an underwater bridge and finally arrive at Smith Mountain Lake Dam. After the cruise, we will return home. Arriving back approximately 5:30 PM.
