Penn-Dutch Theatre Weekend Featuring: Jesus

with an Optional Dinner & Show at Dutch Apple Theatre

1st Day: Upon arrival in Lancaster, Pennsylvania we will check into our home for the next two nights. Tonight, if you choose, enjoy dinner and a show at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre (please note this is optional - see special notice section below for pricing information if you chose this option) or you may have free time at the Rockvale Outlets for dinner and shopping.

2nd Day: This morning we’ll meet our Amish Neighbors Tour guide to travel the back roads and hopefully get to see the Amish working in the fields. The first stop will be a “snack” and visit to the Dutchie Fisher Farm (now the Lapp’s). This family has five children. On our stop here, we will visit with the family inside of their home where the mother and children will make some snacks and drinks for everyone. You’ll be able to sit, talk, and get to know the family. They will answer questions, talk about the farm and their way of life, and just intermingle with the group. Once our snack visit is over, our guide will continue into the countryside and talk about the Amish customs and traditions. We’ll be passing by several one-room schoolhouses, which are still being used today by the Amish children. Maybe we’ll be lucky enough to see Amish horse and buggies clip-clopping down the roads. Next, we’ll head to the Kitchen Kettle Village to enjoy lunch on your own. Stroll through the village of 42 shops and restaurants. Next we will visit the Bird-in-Hand Farmer’s Market. A delight- ful country shopping experience! After a delightful day our dinner stop will be a family-style Amish Feast. After dinner we will go to the Sight & Sound Theatre to see – Jesus. Found in all 4 gospels in the New Testament, this show is based on the account of Jesus’s life. The show is more than a historical account...it’s an unexpected portrayal of the character of Jesus and the everyday people whose lives He transformed. Scenes include Peter’s catch of fish, Jesus walking on the water, feeding of the 5,000, and family-friendly perspectives of the crucifixion and the resurrection. This is the ultimate story of rescue. (CB, D)

3rd Day: This morning we will board the coach for Hershey’s Chocolate World. Enjoy Hershey’s Great American Chocolate Tour Ride. Follow the cocoa beans on a journey from the tropical rainforest to the SWEETEST PLACE ON EARTH – Hershey, Pennsylvania! Also, enjoy a FREE sample of a Hershey’s product at the end of the tour. Next, we depart for home, arriving back approximately 8:30 PM. (CB)

Special Notice:  Balance due 30 days prior to departure. Cancellation within 30 days of departure will result in payment forfeiture.  *The optional dinner and a show at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre is $70 per person.
