Join us as we head to Mount Airy and the Andy Griffith Playhouse for a wonderful, family-friendly show. Mount Airy Main Street was recently named the Best Attraction in NC by USA Today. This charming town was Andy Griffith’s childhood home and the inspiration behind the town of “Mayberry” from the Andy Griffith Show. The town’s historic Main Street looks much like its fictional counterpart, complete with vintage squad cars and a replica of the jail and courthouse from the show. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a guided riding tour through “Mayberry.” The guide will point out places of interest, talk about the history and how they relate to Andy Griffith and the show. Sights to be seen on this tour include: Snappy’s Lunch, Floyd’s Barber Shop, Andy Griffith Playhouse, Andy’s homeplace, Wally’s Service Station, Mayberry replica Courthouse and Jail and the Granite Quarry. There will be a stop at Wally’s Service Station so that everyone can go inside the replica Courthouse and Jail. After the tour, you’ll have some free time to look around and have lunch on your own, prior to going to the show. This afternoon we’ll head to the Playhouse to enjoy the show. Direct from Branson, the Ozark Jubilee presents: STARS OF THE GRAND OLE OPRY. The all-star cast of the Jubilee will be performing the music of the GREAT STARS of the GRAND OLE OPRY, from ROY ACUFF, PATSY CLINE, TAMMY WYNETTE, RAY PRICE, GEORGE JONES, MERLE HAGGARD, CHARLIE PRIDE, PORTER WAGONER, and many more. The Jubilee also features Branson’s Funniest Comedian and World Class Fiddler: DOOFUS DOOLITTLE. Doofus has performed with many of the legends himself and will be sharing stories from his experiences with some of the artists. If you like country music and good clean family entertainment, you’ll want to see the OZARK JUBILEE! Returning after the show, arriving back approximately 6:30 PM.
