Christmas in Charleston


1st Day: Upon arrival in Charleston we will check into our home for the next two nights. This evening we will board the Carolina Queen for the Keep the Light Shining’ Holiday Dinner Cruise featuring The Plantation Singers. Enjoy a delicious buffet, two hour cruise around Charleston Harbor, Gullah spirituals and holiday tunes. (D)

2nd Day: This morning, enjoy a Historic Charleston Christmas Tour including a visit to one of the elegant house museums beautifully decorated for the holiday season. Following the tour, you will have some free time in the Historic District to shop, sightsee, and have lunch on your own. In the Historic District you can enjoy museums, galleries, boutiques, and restaurants while experiencing the unique charms of this world-class city. Tonight, dinner is included at the Charleston Crab House on James Island. Following dinner, let the spirit of the season embrace you as James Island County Park comes alive with illumination at Charleston’s most beloved nighttime event the Holiday Festival of Lights! The journey begins with a three-mile drive through hundreds of breathtaking light displays, featuring millions of twinkling bulbs. The Holiday Festival of Lights is much more than just a driving tour! Park and experience exciting attractions custom-designed for holiday cheer at Santa’s Village and Winter Wonderland; such as, Gingerbread Houses, Giant Greeting Cards, Santa’s Sweet Shoppe, and much more. 3rd Day: We will head to Magnolia Plantation and Gardens this morning. Enjoy the full bloom of America’s most extensive outdoor camellia display. The plantation house is decorated for the season. Also included is the Nature Train; a 45-minute tram tour of the Plantation’s diverse landscapes, lakes, woodlands, marshes, and rivers, while guides describe plantation history and wildlife. After lunch in the area, we’ll depart for home. Arriving back approximately 6:00 PM. (CB)
