Penn-Dutch Theatre Express

1st Day: Upon arrival in Lancaster, PA, we will check into our home for the night. This evening, a smorgasbord dinner is included. After dinner we head to Strasburg to the Sight & Sound Theatre to see Jonah. Jonah is a prophet and a man desperately trying to outrun his calling from God — a calling that leads straight to his enemy, Nineveh. After uncharted adventures lead him off a stormtossed ship and into the belly of a giant fish, Jonah believes all hope is lost. But in the depths, will he learn how to receive grace and extend mercy, even toward those he opposed the most? Experience one of the Bible’s most powerful stories of mercy as Jonah’s journey comes to life like never before in this original production from Sight & Sound theaters. (D)

2nd Day: After breakfast at the hotel, we will have a 2-hour guided tour of the Amish Farmlands. Our guide will lead us into the countryside and talk about Amish customs and traditions. We’ll be passing by several one-room schoolhouses, which are still being used today by Amish children. Maybe we’ll be lucky enough to see Amish horse and buggies clip-clopping down the roads. Next, we’ll head to the Kitchen Kettle Village. Stroll through the village of 42 shops and restaurants built around their nationally celebrated Jam & Relish Kitchen. Sample pepper jam, watch fudge being rolled, or go for a horse drawn carriage ride. And did we mention the shopping? It’s like a treasure hunt with everything from hand-carved signs, to handmade quilts, to Brighton leather goods, to UGG boots and so much more. Enjoy lunch on your own at the Village. We’ll depart for home after lunch, arriving back approximately 9:30 PM. (CB)

Special Notice: Balance due 30 days prior to departure. Cancellation within 30 days of departure will result in payment forfeiture.
