Outer Banks - July 4th Celebration

Featuring: A Parade, Live Music, and Fireworks!

Day 1: Hop aboard the motorcoach, bound for the historic sands of Kill Devil Hills, NC. On arrival, we’ll enjoy lunch at a local neighborhood hotspot. After our meal, we continue onto the Wright Brothers National Memorial, where you can stand on the exact spot where aviation changed forever. Following a short rest at the hotel, we will have dinner on our own in the area. Once our belly is full we will head over to Corolla Park to enjoy some live music and take in an early fireworks display over the sound at dusk. (L)

Day 2: After breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for Duck, NC for the parade! This will kick off the celebration for July 4th and we will get to enjoy the best of what Duck has to offer and see why they are famous for their high-energy beach style!  After the parade the celebration continues downtown along the waterfront in Currituck Sound with many vendors to explore.  After a full afternoon, we will take a quick break at the hotel to freshen up before indulging in the world-famous Captain George’s Seafood Buffet in Kill Devil Hills. Later in the evening, we will head off to witness the grand finale of our day: a massive Independence Day Fireworks show! (B, D)

Day 3: After breakfast at the hotel, we will travel to the striking, black-and-white striped Bodie Island Lighthouse.  Take all the pictures you want, immerse yourself in nature on the wooden marsh boardwalk, or climb the 219 steps to the top of the tower for stunning 360-degree coastal views ($10 adult/$5 62 and older).  We will depart for home with unforgettable memories of the weekend to last a lifetime. Returning approximately 6:00 PM. (B)
