A World-Class Getaway

Day 1: Today, we will make our way to The Greenbrier Resort, an 11,000-acre estate tucked away in West Virginia’s Allegheny Mountains. Leaving the world behind, you will be greeted by sweeping vistas and lush, forested hollows—a true sanctuary in the heart of nature. You will sense a slower rhythm—a place that invites you to pause. The architecture and design recall the grand hotels of a bygone era, offering more than just luxurious accommodations; you’re stepping into a story. On our way to the resort, we will visit the New River Gorge Bridge. It is the third-highest bridge in the U.S. and one of the highest vehicular bridges in the world. It is one of the most iconic engineering feats in the United States, standing 876 feet above the New River. Upon arrival at the resort, enjoy afternoon tea with live music and pastries. Later in the evening, you will have a premier dining experience followed by the high-stakes excitement of the Casino Club. Dress code: Jackets for men, dresses or evening suits for women. (D)

Day 2: After breakfast, we’ll go on an underground bunker tour that is a rare piece of Cold-War era history.  After your tour, you are free to enjoy the Greenbrier’s blend of casino excitement + resort elegance. Upscale surroundings in the casino embedded in a luxury resort; expect a high-end finish, with dedicated bars/restaurants within. If the casino isn’t your thing, indulge yourself at the Springs or Spa.  The area is known for its sulphur and mineral springs. The spa incorporates the historic mineral springs theme with hydrotherapy, signature treatments, and other true pampering wellness options.  Historic “taking the waters” spa tradition lends a unique wellness heritage since 1778 when people came to the spring.  Midday lunch at the legendary Draper’s is included—be sure to save room for their famous house-made ice cream! The resort is well known in the golf world: one of its courses, The “Old White”, originally designed in 1914, remains in use.  Tee times and course conditions matter, and the resort’s variety of courses means you can pick based on your level.  If you are a non-golfer, you can enjoy shopping or take a tour of the grounds. You can go for a hike, or just sit by the pool. Carriage rides are available and offer a timeless way to explore the resort's sprawling estate, allowing you to experience the grounds much like guests did over a century ago. You are also welcome to visit the Presidents’ Cottage Museum, where the resort’s deep ties to American leadership are preserved within a beautiful two-story historic residence — included as part of your Greenbrier experience. Your evening concludes with a decadent dinner at one of their onsite restaurants, leading seamlessly into an elegant night of dancing. (B, L, D)

Day 3: Enjoy another leisurely breakfast in the morning.  Post-breakfast, the morning is free for you to enjoy the Casino Club or a cup of tea. We depart for home with all of the memories we have made at The Greenbrier Resort that delivered mountain air, heritage, and a rich, relaxing, fun experience we hope you enjoyed. Returning approximately 6:00 PM. (B)
