New Hampshire & Maine

1st Day: We begin our journey to New England today, spending our first night in New Jersey.

2nd Day: Today, we will travel through Massachusetts and then up the Vermont-New Hampshire state line, on our way to the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire. We will be lodging at a resort in Lincoln, NH for the next two nights, and dinner is included this evening. (CB, D)

3rd Day: A hearty breakfast is included this morning at the hotel. Our first stop will be Fadden's General Store to learn how maple syrup is made. The Fadden’s have been making maple syrup for nearly 200 years! You’ll even get a chance to taste this award-winning 100% pure New Hampshire maple syrup, and still have some free time for shopping at this quaint New England favorite. We continue on towards Mount Washington to enjoy a box-lunch at the Base Station before boarding the Cog Railway for a scenic journey to the summit. The Mount Washington Cog Railway, also known as the Cog, is the world's first mountain-climbing cog railway. Tonight, we're in for a special treat aboard the Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train where we will enjoy a fabulous train ride and delicious four-course dinner. (B, BL, D)

4th Day: After breakfast, we will make our way to Lake Winnipesaukee for a narrated scenic cruise. Learn about the history of the region and local folklore, surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in New England. Enjoy lunch on your own at Weir’s Beach after the cruise. The next stop will be the Nubble Lighthouse at Cape Neddick. Located in York, Maine, Nubble Lighthouse is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world. We continue on to South Portland, ME, our home for the next two nights. Dinner on your own in the area. (B)

5th Day: Following breakfast, we board the coach for the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath. The museum offers many opportunities to explore Maine’s maritime heritage and culture. Exhibits include a historic shipyard and an active waterfront. We will also enjoy a 1-hour narrated Lighthouse and Nature cruise. After our visit, we board the coach for Freeport (home of LL Bean), where you can enjoy some fabulous shopping and lunch on your own. We round out our day with a 2-hour guided tour of Portland, Maine. Learn the great history of this seaside city and those who made it their home. Our tour will also include a visit to the Portland Head Light, which was commissioned by George Washington in 1794. This evening we enjoy a traditional Maine Lobster Dinner. (B, D)

6th Day: This morning we will be heading to Lancaster, PA. We will be traveling south by Hartford, Connecticut and New York City. Evening is free for your enjoyment. (B)

7th Day: Have breakfast and board the coach for your return trip to North Carolina. Arriving back approximately 7:00 PM. (CB)
