National Gingerbread Competition
Includes Lunch at Omni Grove Park Inn
We will begin our trip to Asheville, NC, for lunch at a Grand Mountain Resort, the Omni Grove Park Inn. The Omni Grove Park Inn was opened on July 12, 1913, and has had thousands of visitors, including Woodrow Wilson, Franklin D. Roosevelt, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Will Rogers. The Omni Grove Park Inn has two of the most famous fireplaces in the world. After a delicious meal we will have time to explore the Inn and grounds, as well as admire all the gingerbread houses that are part of the 33rd annual National Gingerbread Competition. There are four age categories competing: Children 5-8, Youth 9-12, Teen 13-17, and Adult 18+. We can’t wait to see this year’s creations! Arriving back approximately 7:00 PM. (L)
