Bridge Day

Join us for a fun-filled day-trip to West Virginia's largest single-day festival in Fayetteville, West Virginia! The New River Gorge Bridge, is a four-lane steel arch bridge which is the longest in the world. It is the highest span east of the Mississippi River and the third highest in the United States. All four lanes of the bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic, allowing pedestrians to cross on foot to enjoy breathtaking views of the New River from the Bridge itself. Bridge Day is the only day of the year people are allowed to BASE jump off the bridge into the New River Gorge 876 feet below. BASE jumping is the recreational sport of jumping from fixed objects, using a parachute to descend to the ground. After jumping from the bridge, jumpers will deploy a parachute to slow their descent and land. About four hundred BASE jumpers participate in each year's festival. In addition to the jumpers, there will be vendors, food trucks, a car show, and transportation “Into the Gorge” so you can watch the events from below. The main events take place from 9am until 3pm after which, we will begin our journey home, arriving approximately 7:00 PM.

Please note - You may bring clear backpacks, and small purses or bags (subject to search), but the following items are prohibited: Folding chairs, coolers, backpacks, large bags, binocular bags, camera bags.
