Nationwide Charter Bus Rentals for Groups & Tours
Holiday Tours has been moving groups with charter bus services since 1978. We charter more than 200,000 passengers a year on coaches we own, service, and staff ourselves. Whether you need a coach for one afternoon or a two-week itinerary across several states, you work with one company from the quote through the return trip.
We are family-owned, based in Randleman, North Carolina, and licensed to operate in all 50 states and Canada. Our charter bus services cover the Carolinas and Virginia most extensively, and because we're mobile, our coaches travel well beyond those areas too. We can start and end your trip virtually anywhere. Request a quote today!

What Our Charter Bus Services Include
With Holiday, you can choose from two group bus rental options when you request a quote:
-
Driver only: You get the coach, the driver, fuel, and insurance. You handle the itinerary, the lodging, and the stops. This is the standard option for schools, athletic teams, corporate shuttles, and any group that already knows where it is going.
-
Complete travel package: We build the whole trip. Your coach and driver come with hotel bookings, attraction tickets, meals, and a routed itinerary. Groups planning a multi-day trip without a dedicated organizer usually choose this option to help with coordination.
Both options include the same fleet and the same drivers. The difference is only in how much we take care of the planning.

Our full-size coaches are Prevost, the coach most tour operators consider the industry benchmark. Our smaller coaches are Temsa, a European manufacturer. Every coach features reclining seats with footrests and armrests, climate control, luggage storage, a PA system, and onboard entertainment.
If you can't decide between two sizes, we recommend booking the larger one. It's hard for anyone to be in a coach at full capacity for eight hours.

What Affects the Cost of a Charter Bus Rental
Charter pricing is quoted per trip, not from a rate card, because no two itineraries cost the same to run. The factors that affect a quote include:
-
Distance and duration: Total miles and total days both matter, and a trip that keeps the coach out overnight costs more than the same mileage in a single day.
-
Coach size: What you pay depends on the size and type of coach that fits your group best. Whether that's a 30-passenger mini or a full-size Prevost, pricing is tailored to your group's specific needs and desires.
-
Driver hours: Federal hours-of-service rules cap how long a driver can be on duty, so an itinerary that exceeds those limits needs a second driver.
-
Overnight lodging: Multi-day trips include driver accommodations.
-
Season and timing: Spring field trip season and peak fall weekends are the tightest windows on the calendar.
-
Tolls, parking, and admissions: Passed through or bundled depending on which pricing option you choose.
-
Traveling overnight: Overnight travel can save your group a hotel stay, but it requires extra driver preparation on our end, so daytime and overnight trips to the same destination are priced differently.
Why Group Planners Choose Holiday
We own and maintain our own fleet. Every coach is serviced in-house by our own technicians, and we run more than 60 preventative maintenance programs across the fleet. Most operators outsource this. See our fleet services for how that program works.
Our safety record is on file. We have held a Satisfactory DOT safety rating, the highest the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration issues, since we started operating.
We have done this for 47 years. Holiday was founded in 1978 and is still family-owned. We were named 2024 IMG Operator of the Year and 2018 Metro Magazine Operator of the Year.
You get a person, not a portal. Quote requests come back within 1 to 2 hours during business hours, and the same travel associate stays with your booking.

How to Book a Charter Bus
-
Request a quote. Submit the online form with your dates, departure point, destination, headcount, and preferred coach size, or call (336) 498-9000. Have your passenger count close to final, since it drives the coach assignment.
-
Review your quote. We respond within 1 to 2 hours during normal business hours with pricing for the option you selected.
-
Confirm the booking. A travel associate walks through the itinerary, pickup timing, and any stops, then confirms the reservation with a $100 deposit per bus. Book early for the best availability and pricing.
-
Submit payment. Full payment is due 14 days prior to departure.
-
Send final details. Passenger count, contact for the day of travel, and any itinerary changes come in ahead of departure.
-
Travel. Your driver arrives at the scheduled pickup point with the assigned coach.
-
Cancellation Policy: Cancel 14+ days before departure for a full refund. Within 14 days, we'll work with you on a refund or credit toward future travel.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Charter Bus Services
How much does it cost to rent a charter bus?
Charter bus rentals are quoted per trip rather than at a fixed rate, because cost depends on total distance, trip length, coach size, driver hours, and whether the trip runs overnight. We return a free quote within 1 to 2 hours during normal business hours.
How many people fit on a charter bus?
Our full-size Prevost motorcoaches seat 50 to 56 passengers. A mid-size Temsa coach seats 38, and a mini motorcoach seats 30. There is also a 50-passenger full-size configuration with additional legroom for longer routes.
How far in advance should I book a charter bus?
Book as early as your dates are firm, particularly for spring field trip season and peak fall weekends, when fleet availability is tightest.
Are Holiday's drivers licensed and screened?
Yes. All Holiday drivers hold a commercial driver's license with a passenger endorsement and operate under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration rules, including hours-of-service limits and daily vehicle inspection reporting.
